Saturday 19 April of 2e Vitesse flight this year from Tongeren over a distance of 199 km.
On the Vitesse, almost all the pigeons that can go on flees. We left a few latecomers from last week, Thus we came to a nice number of 55 pigeons. (24 doffers in 31 hens)
As so often in recent weeks, the wind came out of the wrong corner again, but the further prospects of the weather were good and then you hope you get a nice flight.
The solution was 9.45 hour and a calm east wind windy. There were even some beautiful white clouds in the sky. All in all circumstances for a wonderful Saturday. Even the department talked about a super departure of the pigeons. Always good to hear and read that they immediately go out of the good side at the release.
We expected the 1e Pigeon about there 2,5 hour would fly over. It surprised us that it was just a little earlier. About 12.12,08 it was found and it was even a 3-year-old cock, from 22-8162046 While we usually have the hens in the lead. This cock is of good origin but had not flown super in recent years. Now the motivation was apparently present to be the first to fly in the loft. Then even several cocks arrived on time, at the first 6 arrivals 4 doffers. Finally, cocks also know what flying is. The entire flying team came home very smoothly this Saturday. Within 10 minutes after the 1e Dove was, were already there 37 the antenna passed. The rest 18 were then also quickly at home.
This time we had a great result in the association and the 1e, 3e, 4e in 5 place were allocated to our pigeons. Further 8 pigeons in the first 14 in the Association. We even had 47 of the 55 pigeons in the price. A price percentage of 86% (See results). In the district we ended up in place 2, 7 , 8, in 9 And that with an east wind. A super achievement. Next week again an east wind and a release in the beautiful Marche located in the Ardennes. A beautiful unloading place over a distance of 261 km.
