Saturday 25 juni werden de duiven gelost in Peronne. We had 24 duivinnen ingekorfd. At that moment you already know that it will be a very difficult course of the flight and that you have to be lucky if a pigeon comes through. Unfortunately for us it was a race that has ruined a lot for us in all kinds of championships for both loft and pigeon championships. We were in the top of Middle Distance everywhere, Speed, General and also a number of pigeon champions. With one bad flight these championships are all wiped out. Too bad.
We were therefore an hour late and that at a distance of 390 km. They also all came off very badly. Especially the pigeons that have been good in recent weeks and can always be found in the top of the results, weren't home on Saturday evening. More than half were still on the road in the evening. Fortunately, most pigeons have returned in recent days, but for the time being they are not able to be basketed and since there are only a few flights left on the program, it is the end of exercise for these pigeons in the Middle Distance.
Once again we find it incomprehensible that this flight was released on Saturday. 'S in the morning 09.00 before they were unloaded, the rainfall radar already showed that the entire East of the country from East Belgium to the whole of East Netherlands was cloudy and it would rain. Even with a rainfall radar that you can view a few hours ahead, this was clearly visible and it would in any case continue to rain all morning and afternoon in the east of the Netherlands.. It rained almost all day for us. In the evening from 20.30 hour it cleared up. Why is it released then, unbelieveable!
The pigeons were basketed on Friday evening and could have stayed one night longer until Sunday. On Saturday morning, the good prospects for Sunday were also known in that regard.
Unfortunately a black Saturday in pigeon sport.
